How it works

Bait with the target bird's food source, bread, carrion, wheat etc., water is an excellent bait in hot weather a necessity for the captive birds together with a perch and shelter, this is also a legal requirement. The Crow Cage trap needs to be visited at least every day any none target species have to be released. Once setup the birds land on the V shaped roof and then close their wings to drop down through the slot to get to the bait. They are then trapped because to get out they need to spread their wings and fly up, but with their wings out they can no longer fit thorough the slot. Simple humane and very effective. Many birds can be caught in one day, as the sight of one captured bird feeding draws in many others. The drop in slot can be easily adjusted to accomodated different bird species.

What happens to the birds

Once in the trap the heavy gauge galvanised steel mesh acts as an aviary, holding the birds until release or relocation.
